There is give in the metal, allowing for slight manipulation of the cuff to find the most comfortable fit and positioning on the wrist. Some like to wear it further pushed up the forearm so it is taut and stays in the same spot and some like a looser fit, worn around the smallest part of the wrist and they wear it with movement. Keep in mind the cuff doesn't wrap all the way around the wrist like a bangle does, which makes it easy for everyone to fit into.
